Sarangpur 16

God’s favour.

Reasons for discrimination in God’s favour.

On the fifth day of the irst fortnight of the month of Bhadrapada of Samvat 1877, Shriji Maharaj was seated on a cot in the Verandah near the Durbar of Shri Jiva Khachar at Sarangpur. He was dressed in all white clothes and the Munis and the devotees from the various places were assambled before him.

Then Paramanand Swami asked, “It is cited in the Shrimad Bhagwat that Rishi Narnarayan performs austere Tapas in Badrikashrama for the redemption of the people of Bharatkhanda. How is it then, that all the people do not follow the path of redemption ?”

Replying to the question, Shriji Maharaj said, “The fifth part of the Shrimad Bhagwat contains the reply to your question. Narnarayan Rishi performs Tapas only for devotees who follow the path of. devotion, but not others who have no concern with God. Human birth in this holy land of Bharat is possible only for the people who have performed sanctified deeds. Such sanctified people who have saught refuge in God and who offer worshop to God are graced by Narnarayan Rishi to elevate them in their spiritual endeavour. Clad in the attire of Tapaswin, Narnarayan Rishi, who is Superior to the redemptive attributes of Dharma, Gyan, Vairagya, Upashama, worship etc. dwells in Badrikashram till the world is dissollved in the period of rests, Narnarayan Rishi by his Tapas, augments the very insignificant attributes of Dharma, Gyan, etc. of his devotees who ultimately rise to sublime heights. As a result of such grace, the devotees visualise within their hearts the divine light of Akshardham”, and see within this divine light Lord Shri Krishna. The force of the very austere Tapas of Narnarayan Rishi makes the devotees immune to obstacles coming in the path of their devotion, and thus, they become fully redeemed. Those who do not tread the path of devotion are not so graced by him. He does not perform Tapas for them.

Thus Ends Vachanamrit : Sarangpur – 16.
